I don't think it's the fan - it must be the compressor - The fridge works fine - is there any way to quieten it down?

these often vibrate against the housing? Otherwise turn the thing as cold as possibile in the evening, then adjust to a less cold temperature as u go to bed. Hey presto - silent fridge!

Hi,
depends what,s wrong with it but try these:
1/ the fridge is resting on somthing and "rubing agaist" it=move it while running to get quietest spot
2/compresser mountings worn/broken..replace or make new
3/compressor/running with empty fridge... freeze somthing
4/themostat/thermal expansion faulty ....replace stat
5/big end gone..replace fridge
6/don,t do this if its still working ok.... invert fridge for 2minutes and resart after 2mins... sometimes works but can damage compresser.
7/if its really bad kick fridge!!!!!!!.

Compressor not installed "level" is a common cause or worn mounts.
