lol. dont think i haven't suggest that fine and sensible option. i fear that going there again would prove costly in, oh, so many ways!

Funny, that, my SWMBO, being ex Pathology Labs, swears that baby wipes are a better option at sea,as more hygenic than a quick wash and imperfect drying on a swinging towel, and conserves the water bunkerage too!:D

reason and rhyme are somewhat beyond the realms of the puritan, who still insists on the removal of new shoes from tables and castigates the raising of a brolly indoors lest we be smitten by the lord of bad luck!
i suspect your good lady to be absolutely correct, for what its worth. funny thing is, mine insists i carry wipes in the car, just in-case!!

... i am not overly keen to have a large amount of standing water in a tank which may be used for drinking.

If you actually drink water neat, without diluting it with alcohol or boiling and flavoring it, you may prefer to drink cheap bottled water instead. Then tank usage depends on how often you wash persons, vegetables, crockery etc...

yes, i know, but my plans seem to be in a constant state of flux and since that post have opted for a filter system from pozziani which is a system i know to be both economical and very effective as i use one all the time on my domestic system. they will also supply an incorporated sub-1 micron ceramic filter for £11.95 which nicely addresses my concerns about standing water. complete system including well made chrome tap and adapter to plumb to 1/2" flexi- pipe, £27, currently half price and selling at a loss.
i would prefer to keep safe the traditional way, cleansing with alcohol, but have the prying eye of the enjoyment tzar to consider.
