The TV production company Television Corp has just sold the rights to professional powerboat racing for £1 which it has aquired last year for a great deal more! As a result of dumping this 'asset', their shares rose.

So it's not just us boaters that chuck loads of cash away on boating!

In Italy powerboat racers have the status of Formula 1 race car drivers. Over here, zilch, no following to speak of.

They used to have an annual international powerboat championship in Bristol Docks many years ago. They stopped doing it because too many boats came to grief against the harbour wall - spoil sports! No wonder no-one wants to watch it on the telly!

They still race F1 / GP boats around one of the lakes in Milton Keynes. Great fun day out V. noisy.

... the only time I ever made money from my boat was when the Chritene Hamilton show used it for a day and paid me £750 rental :)
