\"Nice\" virgins seek advice from old hands?

Trip to my bestest ever mates Targa berthed in Nice is on again.
Only two days tho.
Prob will spend first day blamming around and on second do boring boating maintaince stuff ie.Have got to upgrade audio system and do things in preparation for later fitting of AC.
So where to go...............Is there a nice scenic power station/gasworks/oil refinery somewhere nearby /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif or will we be stuck with some naff idylic cove with packed to the hilt naked wimmin where we can pose just offshore, but within binocular range.
And the evening.Need v.cheap atmospheric french cafe packed to the rafters with semi naked etc etc .....

Hi oldgit. Fraid it is all monotonously scenic with semi-clad wimm on the beaches and even more with even fewer clothes on, draped over other boats.

If you really are in Nice Port proper, then on the day in port ....between port and v good old town is Mont Boron - nothing much up hill but round it from the port to the old town, highly rec'd'd. You can talk a round trip. From looking at the port from the sea, take road in far left corner Rue Cassini in NW idirection away from the sea 500 yards ish to the roundabout, then stay go leftish past the oyster bar on the roundabout (quite slowly) and then stay on the oyster bar side of road (or askem where) and walk down into the pedestrianised old town. In the middle of old town, Place Rossetti (?) it is v decent cheap nosh, and lots more when the flower market clears off further along at midday from the main Cours Saleya, nearer the sea. Then eventually walk back along the sea shore round the point, back to the port. Bout 1.5 miles total, and 10,000 restaurant seat to choose from, so twill take half to a wholeday, depending on how long you dawdle. The beach is pebbly, so if you fancy a cool swim and shower on the beach take any flipflops or (better) diving shoes otherwise ouch ooch ouch.

Evening in the port there is the vair cheap Moules a Volonte or the Aime summink is rated, both on east side of port...but most fancy another trip back to the old town, or at least to Cours Saleya.

At sea, you could nip off just a couple of miles to the bay of Villefranche, mebbe anchor out all day (needs a dinghy) but atmospheric and dramatic - you're the view for everyone who is stuck in a poxy £4million villa on the hilside. In fact, crew can swim all day while other fix the boat. Can anchor out al day and night here, and go ashore to the not actually cheap Mere Germaine restaurant or less spensive anywhere else on the front.

If he really wants a good trip, then many feel that they haven't donwe the p[lace prope unles gone to Monaco, but just a drive into the port and out again is the best way, unless you fancy reviewing some streets with a lot of banks innem. Yet another anchorage on the way back is just behimnd hammerhead of Cap Ferrat on East side at St Jean Cap Ferrat.

If you want the idyllic cove bit, try the Iles Lerins just off Cannes. Go out of Nice and turn right. Wherever you go though, dont expect it to be deserted as well as idyllic
