Not me, old bean. I was on the second last public ferry off Bute (three cars and two foot passengers at 5pm on a sunny Saturday!) and I'm not even going to think about going back until things have eased up. It's only a boat, and the yard are very good at looking after them.
Well to be honest, if I lived in Wemyss Bay I might be a little frustrated ... it's more the hundred mile drive there that I want to avoid than the crossing to Bute, which I am sure has quite enough contact with the mainland to have anything Wemyss Bay has.For goodness sake don't tell that to the mob on the "RYA leads call for immediate access to marinas " thread. All their boats seem to be in imminent danger of something dire that requires their attendance.
Well that's a Massive number then 35 people over 3 ferries . over the weekend, halt the stampede people , there might even have been some that though they were allowed under Jobs etc.
Piss poor reporting as usual
CalMac has seen a 95 per cent reduction in passengers and vehicles across its network of 28 routes since the lockdown
Seems like us Scots are heeding the guidelines pretty well
Yup. 35 chancers. Day trippers call them what you like.
First week of shutdown Western ferries were averaging 5-10 cars per ferry. I was told today that forty cars got off the 10:30 ferry this morning.
According to First Minister at lunchtime today traffic has increased 10% this week alone.
Begs the question why are they reopening nothing has changed on the advice or guidance about lockdownMore businesses are now re opening , people travel by car to their work, seems our first minister and her advisers need an aspie in their key group , to work that one out![]()
Could be that they are interpreting the guidelines in a more relaxed way (that doesn't necessarily mean wrongly) or could be that businesses have rejigged their working to suit new conditions. I can't say I have noticed much difference here, but the road past my house is a minor one and I only go The Big City (it's a village, really) once a week or so.Begs the question why are they reopening nothing has changed on the advice or guidance about lockdown
