Just changed my fuel filters for the first time in 18months (yeah. I know. Naughty, naughty)
I have to say I was really pleased to see how clean they are.
My set up has 2 Lucas/ CAV type primay filters, and a spin on secondary filter per engine. The 2 CAV types are "in series" (ie) the diesel passes through each filter in turn and not through both simultaniously.

On both engines only the first primary filter had slight dirt contamination, and absolutely no bug. The second primary, and the secondary both being completely clean. They were still very serviceable. Then again, I do use the famous Soltron snake oil!! Great eh!
