Studgies and his mate came down to crew for a seatrial now the engine is fixed. Started off bloody awful weather, but i made it clear we didn't have to go, but the longer we waited the beter the weather. Eventually, off we went up the solent at 30knots, whoosh, vair smooth.

The nice men at Golden arrw say they will order a new generator cover and do a bit of gelcoat that got whacked when the engine went back in. Otherwise all fine. Well, not fine - the exhaust system as supplied from new was a bit wrong and has buggered the flexyjoints which are £1000 a pair - Jim's pix to follow.

Left the boat at Hamble Yot Services, after reversing at Powerskipper coming the other way BUT i gave the correct sound signal, and seeing as how i was 23 metres i suppose i cd've rammed the boat she was in to give an excelent demonstration of IRPCS rule 9j (?) or whatever it is that says get outta the way when some berk with a 20+m boat forgets about the blimmin tide, and hasbn't booked a berth in advance.

Thanks for the lunch Matt! You will need to message your e-mail address to me and I will pass on the piccies! It was a nice trip out, who would have believed the solent would be so pleasant after the previous day/nights weather! I am now franticaly trying to figure out wich animal print carpet would look best on our ickle sealine, I think I will go for Dalmatian spots!

I think Powerskipper was stalking us Matt, did you not notice the menacing way she said she 'WOULD' see youout on the water. Much as the tide was running and they gave you a rather tiny space to fit into I have to say I was impressed, no drama at all (I reakon if someone had benn on board the flybridge cruiser on the oposite bearth they would have been a little scared)

The Sealine Powerskipper was on was the first I have ever seen with a blue hull.....quite nice I think, I wonder how bacchus would look, hmmmm, dalmation and blue, I could start a trend!!

Hi. Matt, yes you did do the correct sound signal 10/10. But er the tide was not running full on but wind was up a bit, alway blows off that fuel pontoon area, think guy on the fuel berth was waiting with £ in his eyes for you to berth.

The blue hull is something they tyred and the first one sold with hours of being on show and that was the second one.
Was a great day out , sun was quite strong, not bad for an October day, just think what all the people who take there boat out are missing.

Blue hull

Saw a blue hulled S42 in St Malo this summer. I thought it looked er... not very good. The blue stripe is not wide enough and makes the boat look "bitty". Much nicer all white IMHO.
