Hi,

I am based in Walton and after meeting a coulple of guys doing the JAC I am more and more looking towards doing the JC in 2014. I should have a boat by xmas and have access to one at the moment. I am looking for a target to fit into my 6 weeks off next summer that will challange me but not just be a 'sail out into the north sea and turn back after 200 miles' type trip. I have been longing to get back out on the water since doing a short handed Atlantic crossing three years ago and need some ideas to help aid my winter planning.

Regards,

James

North spain and then either straight back or coast hop up the french coast on your way home?
Orkney?
Scilly?
Southern Ireland?
Brittany?

Not a Jesterite (yet), but I do like to trespass in here now and again...

OK, it's North Sea work, (unless you go the long way around between our funny talking cousins to the left, but 'spect 6 weeks'll be way too short), but in Summer Norway would be a fantastic trip. You can do the big run straight up of course, or a nice coastal route.

Oh, just noticed the 5-10 day limit... Ah well, will still post this.

Copenhagen? Maybe too far for such a dash... Unless you are up to leave the boat somewhere, to come back to in your 6 weeks.

(Must confess I like to encourage threads in this forum as it's the most interesting by far, and been quiet lately).

Helgoland sounds good, infact the frisian islands in general. I was a big fan of riddle of the sands as a child so any of those strange places could be good.....might even spot a german sub:)
