Next boat Azimut 39 or Cranchi 40 Atlantique

Just got a quote from them for a 10.5m sports boat from Alicante to Cherbourg - €9,000!!! I nearly fell off my chair. I know a friend got a Sealine F43 trucked back to the UK for about 2/3rds of that, and that included the channel crossing

Crazy isn't it! I guess it's going to be based on where a company has trips already booked and whether you catch an empty leg.

+1 all that.

WL, now that your strategy of not disclosing in advance what you were looking at didn't work, maybe you can reconsider sharing with us your future targets...? :)

Well, it didn't work but not because I was gazzumped ;)

Still got an Azimut 42 on the boil, and a Princess in reserve. Couple of others I've enquired about through the main broker sites but it's amazing how many enquiries are never responded to.

My experince from the Med is the same. Many of the brokers don´t give a shit. Really strange behavior.
The onces who does respond to emails is normally not interested in answering questions or sending more pictures for example

The broker who has the Cranchi that I´m about to viev has been great until now. No respons since I booked the ticket but lets hope it´s just his wife who has ordered a weekend without emails and such :)

I guess it just proves you are doing it right: you've got a deep knowledge of what you want and are chasing the lowest price in the weakest marketplace for leisure boats this side of Somalia.

So, your offers make the brokers cry, or else along comes someone who will pay a bit more. And guess what...

Persistence is the answer. Either that, or throwing money at the issue. :D

No offers have been ridiculous - I think the biggest was €80k on a boat listed at €100k.

The last one detailed above was asking €76,500 and I offered €70,000 with the draft contract drawn on €72,500 as the broker had been told previously by the vendor that this was the last price

So what happened here?
Sorry for not "ending" the thread :(

Well we had agreed on a price. Flight tickets and rental car was booked but then the noght before I should leave for Croatia I suddenly stopped up and said to my self "what are you doing? You don´t have time for this"
So I decided not to go but wait a week or two to think it thru. Spoke to the broker and he wasn´t all happy of course
The folowing days I went from feeling that the decision was good to why did I do like this
After one two weeks it feelt like I did the right decision as I really didn´t have time for it and this was probably the first time I listen to the thought. Normally I just go for it and I deal with the problem later. Problems solves in the end :)
I assume it´s the age who shows he he
So the plan changed to no boat in summer of 2015 but then it changed again when I ran in to super deal on a Sea Ray 330 locally so I ended up with a boat that summer anyway
Sold it in the autumn and we´ll see about this summer. Invested some of the boat money in my business so I might end upp with the small open Cobia that I buyed during my stay in Florida this winter
But as always I have a hard time staying away from Yachtworld and other sites so we´ll see about it :)
