Next boat Azimut 39 or Cranchi 40 Atlantique

Well I'm now in the med with my Cranchi. We left Hythe, went through Eastbourne and crossed the channel into Boulogne. She was lifted and taken to St Jean de Losne and we travelled south down the Saone and Rhone to enter the med at Port Camargue. Now in Cap D'Agde having a sangria in the marina. The boat has been very well behaved, a leak on the shower outlet and a smoky starboard engine have been our worst issues. The smoke was caused by an old air filter so soon fixed.

Fuel consumption has been better than expected, I've used 900 ltd since fuelling in Eastbourne! Now it's getting really hot I think the AC probably needs a recharge though.

Eventually Denia although the schedule between now and then is flexible. Port Camargue was too big for us, 1000's of boats and not enough facilities. Loving Cap D'Agde though.

Agree about PC we entered during August rush hour- not pleasant.
We are in Port Leucate if you decide to stop off there!!

Did put an offer on a Cranchi 40 in Croatia that was turned down
Got the answer that my number is close to what the owner will accept but he came back with a number that is very far from my number :apathy:
As this one is missing AC, hydraulic passerelle, radar and also no plotter on the bridge my opinion is that it should be priced well below others
We´ll see where it ends up

Next week I´m flying to Croatia to see the Cranchi 40 Atlantique

Does anyone know the height of the boat and the height limits in Slovenia, Austria and Germany?
Thinking if it´s needed to remove propellers, shafts and rudders
Is it possible to fold down the radar arch easy as on the 34 Zaffiro and 37 Smeraldo?

I've just had mine trucked, transport height is 4.15m. The arch doesn't fold as it doesn't need to, it's below the windscreen height, the steaming lamp arch is on hinges though. No need for prop removal either. One option may be to have it trucked to the Rhone and take her up the river(s) to St Jean. I used about 600 lts of fuel coming down the other way. Good luck.

Not a clue, but you might wish to get in touch with these folks:

In fact, they take care of delivering all newly built Cranchi boats to their dealers throughout Europe.
Therefore, on top of knowing the regulations, they surely know the Atl40 as the back of their hands.

Good luck for your search!

Thanks for info and tip :)

The quotes I´ve had so far from Slovenia to Kiel area is between EUR 5500-6500 ex VAT

If you can recommend any more transporters please do

i used a french company called Transport Capelles, half the price quoted by the next cheapest UK carrier. Reasonable english and no problems.

Just got a quote from them for a 10.5m sports boat from Alicante to Cherbourg - €9,000!!! I nearly fell off my chair. I know a friend got a Sealine F43 trucked back to the UK for about 2/3rds of that, and that included the channel crossing

Jez, so how is the boat hunting going? Last I heard you were frustrated by ATC? :)
