Newtown Creek mooring fees?

That's me. My home berth is Ashlett and Newtown feels huge after sailing there - rather like running on sand. Inspired by working on the Yangtze in the 70's. Thousands of junk rigs doing things no other sailing boat would do.

Hello - very nice boat :) Did you buy her with the junk rig or have her converted? What sort of boat is she?

Nicola

Thank you for your kind comments. She is a Freedom 30 - an American cat-boat design with a deep forefoot and a long keel - the best combination for close quarters maneuvering under sail. I bought her with the original wishbone rig - which was good - better than bermudan - but not as good as junk - so I managed to pick up a couple of second hand junk sails and put them on myself.

I go to Newtown quite often - if you would like a go please flag me down. She is just point and go!

Chris, this must be you too? Not this year tho!
And here's another enjoying himself sailing out of there

Thanks for the photos Blueboatman. Yes thats me and the intrepid Tim McGloy is in the Jester replica Folkboat. We often used to sail together in Newtown - I have the slight edge on him though he wouldn't agree.

last time we met in the Solent I asked if he was bound for Newtown.

"No - New York" he yelled.
