Chatting to the the lockie while he took a couple of calls and the skinny is that the river will peak on Tues in this area and expected to be 2003 levels. However, Sunbury were closing two sluices due to the tail height levels being too low, and Molsey only leaving two gates open because his housboat was aground below the lock! So, there is at least somewhere for this volume of water about to hit oxford to go. General opinion is EA are being over cautious having been caught out in 2003.

Bloody hooning through here at the moment and has just crept over the moorings.

we have raised here at wraysbury (oppersite old windor lock)by at least 10 inches since 5pm, its now 11,30 pm, have had to drive scaffold poles into mooring bank to keep both boats of the concrete mooring only about foot to go and the garden will start to flood, fingers crossed, my neigbour came round earlier stating the ea sent a warning out that we was on a 24hr evac, called old windsor lock, the lockie said they are letting the jubilee river go in 2 stages over the nxt 24hrs, our house flooded in 2003 so i pray it doesnt happen again.

I would say the EA are not being cautious, its at 2003 levels up here at Clitfton and Abingdon, so you will get it tomorrow (tuesday).

Spoke to Brayman last night who is moored below Abingdon bridge, they have abandoned the boat and booked into a Hotel /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

view from my garden this morning, you cant normally see the little 20ft maxum from the garden unless you step down onto the mooring.
just had council knock on door warning that we may well be flooded tomorrow, they are delivering sandbags later today.
