My excellent 1986 Venturer was sadly dismasted on Loch Lomond at the end of the season, due to a rusted bolt that connected the roller-reefer forestay. It seems a good opportunity to renew the rigging! Does anyone know the size and length of rope required and whether new washers for Plastimo drums are available? Any other recommendations?

Isn't there a Newbridge Owners Association ? They may have all the details you need ?

Washers ? Do they have to be PLastimo - or can you source from another non marine ? As long as material and dimensions agree ?

I just took his word "rigging" and then onto Plastimo ... dismasting .... mmmm why would furling line be bad ?
With the information given one can make all sorts of assumptions - for example why is it relevant that the boat was dismasted?

Don't think there is any need to nit pick about whose guess was better - the link gives the information about the furler, its construction and spares availability. That should provide useful information for the OP whose is free of course to ask any further questions.

As you can see from the earlier replies, you need to be clearer about what the problem is, and what it is you want to replace. A photo or two might help, but note that as a new poster you won't be allowed to post images until you've made a few more posts (minimum about 5, I think).

Plus enough for a few turns of the sheets round the sail to make sure nothing can get loose. There's a boat on a mooring not far from mine with the shredded remnants of a genoa flapping miserably. I don't know if it was left loose, got loose or was just old, but it's scrap now.

I don't know why people leave genny with clew loose ... I always furl with a couple of line turns round the sail to prevent clew flapping around in the wind.
Even if line / sheets are not tight to stop movement - those couple of turns are usually enough.
