Hi all

I have some questions while I research a boat purchase, and thought I would ask the advice of the internet, not always a good thing but here goes.

Looking at courses initially, long term aim is a purchase of a 16-18m cruiser, ie Fairline Squadron 55 some time in the future. I have experience of power boats, large and small but it was some time ago.

What courses would people recommend before I buy a boat?

I saw a squadron backing into Lymington fuel berth the other day. Main skill seems to be how to back the boat in totally detached fashion while surrounded by bikini clad dancers with disco blaring out and not being distracted by actions of guests as they shout along with ABBA music . Many mobo dealers offer courses etc as part of a sale package so this might be a consideration ‘source of info for decent trainers in your purchase locality.
