New Year, New Boat - Princess 40

Congrats on realising a lifelong dream. She looks great and certainly doesn't seem to show her age. Like yourself, I'm waiting on the weather to improve so I can make my maiden splash in my "new to me" boat. Enjoy!!

Congratulations, lovely looking boat, we've only just escaped from Chatham with ours, been waiting for a gap in the permanant gale force winds and only moving it a few miles upriver!
Have many happy holidays onboard.

Congratulations , a lovely boat . Hope you have many happy miles on board . Buying a P42 has transformed the way we use the boat with added space and confidence in handling .

Thankyou to all for your good wishes. Already looking forward to Friday evening when we can make a start on the 'big clean weekend'.

Wow - that's a fantastic boat! That's a quick step up, but I can see why you switched again so soon. :D Will very much look forward to seeing her in the Bay :encouragement:

To be honest we were not expecting to do anything until next year Rob, but everything just fell into place perfectly so we went for it. Come down for beer & natter when we get her back to Torquay.

I'm fairly sure the Cooney crane was a standard option, I have seen it on a couple of boats that we viewed. It's a very neat and tidy way of adding tender handling.
Actually I was as surprised as Bouba, because I've never seen that solution in any similar size Princess in the Med.
In fact, while I agree that it's perfect for tender handling, it restricts from installing a passerelle, which is a must in the Med, and can work also as a tender crane anyway.
I'd be surprised it they didn't produce the same model with a passerelle instead of a crane.

Regardless, she looks stunning, and at first sight I would have guessed that she was much younger - congratulations! :encouragement:

I believe a passerelle was indeed an option but the crane is a perfect solution for a UK boat.

Congratulations Sprocker, Princess 40 is a great boat. I looked at a couple myself, ended up with the 45, but i do think the 40, 42, 45 are great looking boats that are very well made, and still hold their values well.
Was yours listed as i dont recall seeing her on the main boat sales sites. There was also another nice one on onemarine site in Torquay, but was quickly sold. I do like the option of the hidden crane as opposed to the passerelle. Crane seems popular option on the 40, but i havent seen it on the 42 or 45.
The engines in yours (Tamd63) are a very good match for the boat. Im guessing on sea trials she hit the magic 30 knots.
Happy boating days ahead, enjoy :encouragement:

Hi Jon,

Our particular P40 was never listed on the open market, we were introduce to the vendor by a friend.

One Marine did sell a very nice P40, which we viewed earlier in the year, but it was strong money and we weren't ready to move at that point, still not having sold our old boat. That boat did sell very quickly, within 2 weeks I seem to recall. She is still in Torquay with her new owner.

We hit 31 knots on the sea trial according to the plotters, with half fuel, half water, 5 adults, and fully loaded for Cat C coding, which I was very pleased about, I was only expecting around the 28 knot mark.
