New to Cowes Week

Would like to pop over (from C & N) and have a look at this famous event for the first time this weekend but appreciate marina berth will be out of the question. What does everyone else do?
"Give it a miss" is an acceptable answer!!!

Go up to the folly and park. Then call Sally water taxis on VHF CH6. They will take you down to west cowes and into the fray!

The Folly inn, Whippingham, south of Cowes. Or anchor in Osborne bay (along with 500 MoBos) and watch them all go past. Or ring up E. Cowes marina and ask if they've got a berth for the night, and catch the water taxi down or walk down to the chain ferry. I find that Cowes week is a bit busy for me, being a BOF, but everyone there is out to have a good time so visitors and spectators are not unwelcome.

...not sure, not having a chart to hand. From Cowes head south down the middle of the Medina river until you see a building with "INN" on the roof. Visitors pontoons are opposite and well marked. HM is genial and helpful, usually.
