So brand new to forum and actually dont have a boat yet, I am currently in the military and will be getting out next year. My wife is dragging me back to CA and in doing so has agreed to the terms...if i go back there i get a boat.

I am looking at something 35+ and to be kept in water in So Cal ( LA - DP). My price range is 0-60k ( im aware you get what you pay for but I am also very good with my hands and doing some preliminary searching have found stuff that doesnt seem to be terrible in that price range), I would mainly be using this boat for island hopping with overnight stays and dive/fishing, camping with the kids. But I was also wondering what it takes to get down to Mex, Cabo maybe or up to WA. Fuel cost estimates ( i know there are a million variables but if anyone has done it that would be helpful) and weather conditions. I have boated before but have always done small fast boys.

Any advice on moors, slips, clubs would be great and always looking for new dive buddies.

The west coast to us means Fowey, Falmouth and Plymouth, even stretching to Bristol. Actually boating in California looks a great idea particularly Monterey Bay, and Carmel :D

Yes, i only noticed that this forum was UK based AFTER i posted....and then immediately readied myself for the comments lol. But either way I am interested in long distance power boating.
