I have received this on my Kisckstarter alert. SeeAir: Tankless Dive System with Ultimate endurance by SeeAir — Kickstarter It is a floating compressor to allow diving without tanks. Of course very similar to Blu3 or a Hookah

Seems too good to be true. However they have raised £1/3million with only a £16k goal

Any thoughts???? (I have no connection to them in any way)

Looks great, if the prices they’re quoting are correct, and there’s a UK supplier (a big ‘if’ that) I’ll buy one. Suspect import duty etc will bring price too high otherwise.

We made ours with an aquarium diaphragm pump. No oil or metal parts to ingest. 115l/m airflow rate. Plugs in to boat electrics. 60ft of 10mm air breathing hose and a regulator. We use it to scrub the coppercoat. I have dropped my suction handle and retrieved it from 9m down but the air was a little thin at that depth. It works perfectly for scrubbing our 2.2m draft boat and deeper.

I'd be very tempted at that price as well. Not being tethered to the boat would be great. There are similar things on Amazon & AliExpress but they're more expensive. Very useful & fun to have but as with many things, potentially lethal in the wrong hands. They do say for use only by qualified divers...

You would still want some elementary dive training, as it is essential to breath normally on the ascent, even from a fairly shallow depth. Some people instinctively hold their breath, and this can be deadly
Exactly that.
It does say, in the vid, that is good for experienced and NOVICES alike. Much the same as the Hookah systems popular in OZ, though they are usually on board and with petrol engines, so special problems to avoid exhaust fumes being pumped down.
As long as you understand diving, looks a good bit of kit at the price. Any indication if the batteries are goining flat?

A couple of guys I know have made them up with small 240v oil-free compressors run off inverters, with moisture filters and industrial air hose to the regulator. I'm told good down to around 12 metres.
Our compressor is 24v. Runs direct from house bank, but in reality solar panel powered. 12v compressors with a diaphragm pump are also readily available

You know what they say... If it looks too good to be true....

My gut says that it's a scam to separate a fool from his money.

When I am cleaning the bottom of my boat with my home made breathing apparatus, I don't need to worry about how rough the water is. The air supply is from within the boat.
The compressor makes a breathing sound as the user breaths in and out. Reassuring for the person left on the boat that the one under the boat is well and still breathing. I don't need to charge a battery each time I use it. It wires in to the main bank/solar. Very compact unlike the thing in the advert. Don't waste your money. Easier to make something that is tried and tested. There are lots of us using this setup

I’m intrigued. Is there a write up on yours or similar I can have a look at. Or what to search for? Home made scuba hookah - or is there a better description?

With respect, this kit is a stand alone breathing apparatus that does not need any DIY or be tethered to the boat. So, if it is works as described (ignoring the hype and 'oxygen' bits), It sound quite useful.

Bit curious about the shape of the float, the hollow in the top? not to mention the lack of a 'diving flag' on a little mast..

Might just be that that people investing see a good idea?
