launching a new boat soon with VP D4 300 sterndrives. Wondering if its worth applying antifoul to new sterndrives pre launch. Any thoughts/experiences appreciated
It will be on a berth at Swanwick
I use propshield & find it far better than trilux, which was applied to my 1st new boat by the dealer. Also, the longer you use propshield, the better it works, in my experience anyway.
Fwiw, I totally disagree with such consensus.Seems like the consensus for new sterndrives is to launch without protection for the fist season until the critters give a 'keyed' surface for the paint to stick, we'l see what happens
I did the same, unwittingly, with my boat when new. It fouled up within months and looked dreadful.Agree with the commnets on Trilux, used it successfully on the last boat.
