I have tried to contact those new to sailing, but without success. There seems to be a plethora of sailing courses, but what do course attendees do if they have not got a boat? Reason I ask, is that I have 30ft Kingfisher in the Solent, and find for the next month or so I will only have one useful hand! Hence I thought that some newbies might be interested in a sail, either in the Solent or perhaps further afield. Boat has all emergency gear including beer cooler and G&T dispenser

If only you had posted this message 6 weeks ago ! I have just had a month off work and would have jumped at the chance.

I managed 3 days sailing in the past month and the weather has been superb.

Hopefully the right boat will come along very soon !

" Boat has all emergency gear including beer cooler and G&T dispenser "

Hope you are faster than the local harbour master, coast guard etc otherwise you might get nicked for "drunk sailing" which you richly deserve for admitting to being a one handed (disabled) boozer. It is the likes of you that get the rest of us drunks a bad name - At least we do not advertise the fact our boats are floating "gin palaces" - may the "aqua- plods" make you blow in the bag and take away your certificates (if you have any).

We do not need to advertise we are "sinful, ginful, rum soaked ye ha henries" - everyone already believes it. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Single-handed?

If you mean one of your hands will be in a sling, you have my deepest sympathy. If you mean there'll be just you (able-bodied) and a crew member I envy you. Why would you need any more crew for a yacht of such size (30-foot)?

What about sailors looking to get back in to it - in yacht terms I'd be a newbie for the first couple of days..
