Ahem Depsol, some massively unsubstantiated claims. Too many to list. And you gave Priddy £1000 (at retail price) worth of Solly as a freebie, so you are in the Solly business then, right? You must be expecting to sell quite a bit of solly to recoup a grand in sponsorshp cost, right?
Sony - I doubt they use it (I offer no evidence, but neither do you) and let's be clear, Sony make TVs.
It is categorically NEVER used in serious power stations. I called my father. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, just retired, Fellow of several engineering bodies, and 40 year career designing and running fossil fuel burning power generation equipment, for CEGB (as was) and other major firms like GEC, Babcocks, etc. He said fuel additives are bolx. He has heard them recommended by "people who are ignorant about how to manage the combustion process properly, and who get taken out to dinner by the additive manufacturers" (his exact words). Even if they worked, which is unproven, the cost is much too high for the massive fuel volumes needed for a power station. Power stations always choose to install high-end instrumentation and monitor/control the combustion process VERY precisely, and if you do that no fuel additive can improve it. Solly type additives are not used commercially, even at bulk prices they make no sense.
But if I'm wrong, please advise. Please tell me exactly which power station is adding Solly to its fuel oil
The benefit of Solly is easy to prove, if there is any. Yet no one has (except my half arsed but reasonable 100hour car test).
I didnt give Priddy a £1000 not a penny I ensured that he had 20 litres of Soltron not that it has anything to do with you what I organise.
I dont ask what VC deals you are doing lately so I dont expect you to ask about how I run my business, not that there is any secrecy left now.
Sony Corp in Japan use Soltron up to you whether you beleive it or not. So do alot of bigger Corps inc Coca Cola.
I have a power station report on my desk at home with all the facts I need. Ask your Dad if he has ever heard of Dr Jim Laxton?
If it is so easy to prove or disprove Soltron where are the results from your test? You keep asking for my proof I said if your over here I'll show you the proof but you have not reciprocated the offer, quid pro quo.
I also have fuel test results that prove that we improved the combustability of BP's best 350 cs fuel by 2%, thats BP's best improved, you cant dispute that, you and Matt can argue that black is white and youhavent seen this and havent seen that but just cos you havent seen it doesnt mean it doesnt happen. Also most engineers of the old school do not understand enzyme technology so blow it out of the window.
Don't fax me, put the evidence on the web somewhere, anywhere. We'll have a look.
I don't make the BB rules about advertising. I can point out breahes, as can you or anyone. But I understand that you won't mention Soltron unless asked, correct? In other words, you won't ever introduce the subject again, unless someone directly says "does anybody know about Soltron" . You won't, for example, suggest Soltron, unless directly asked. Remeber, you introduced the subject initially, and repeatedly since then.
One of the BB rules is to avoid personal abuse. You should follow this rule, but break it every single time that the value of soltron is questioned. You've done it again. It is not childish to question unsubstantiated claims.
I fully uinderstand the occassional requirements of confidentiality. If engine makers approve the stuff, as they approve certain brands of oil, then why would that be confidential? Indeed it ought to be very public. "Use soltron with this engine" or "check that soltron is added" or "you will get better gph if you use soltron" but they don't.
Many hereabouts have significant engineering qualifications and experience. Questioning performance of something doesn't question the claimant - it questions the claim.
There is no need to go beserk every time anyone questions what another says - unless of course there is no evidence. Then, it would indeed be best to go beserk, to try and belittle the questioner. As you do again today.
You are wrong that I am "anti" on principle - I'd love it to work, as would many others. So far, no actual evidence. And evidence ISN'T you saying "well why would sony use it" or "queens university tested it" or "some engine manufacturers are haviung a look" . It's a set of results, with the details of the tests, when and how they were carried out, for how long, by whom. The tests should have been copied bu others, and the benfits be easily replicable in real life, and for a product with the great clais you make it ought to be easy.
Evidence isn't name calling, nor "well priddy has got some" or "it's private" or anything else.
I make this at least SIX requests for evidence of this nature, all met by name calling. You have no evidence. It may as well be cat piss. Perhaps it is cat piss. Scientifically, so far, it's worse than cat piss cos it costs lots more. If it's so damn good, why didn't Priddy PAY for the stuff? Or at least get it free. In fact, you had to pay him. I bet alan would put CatPiss stickers on for a grand or so, and say nice things about that too.
Now, stop name calling. Stop plugging soltron, unless directly asked. BUT...we'd love to see evidence on the web. When you're ready....
Oh, and more thing - I don't have to prove it doesn't work - I'm not selling it. You are. So, you prove it. That's the normal way.
Isn't the point Dom that you keep offering Soltron as the elixir of diesel fuel - improving combustion, reducing consumption, and killing the bug. You trot out the same argument about it being "under consideration" and in use by a lot of places and approved by various engine suppliers - when asked for proof you raise the business confidentiality flag. Which is as it should be - but if you can't substantiate the point then why make it?
For pete sake (who ever he is) stop recommending it to the forum all you do, is wind up TCM and then JFM rolls out the stats of his real life test which proved nothing conclusively - apart from Mrs JFMs strangely suspicious diesel selling account with a local taxi firm. I know some members have used it and have seen savings but they are marginal and out side of the laboratory near enough pointless. I can save more by using 100RPM less - and with a needle gauge you never really know for sure what the revs are anyway.
Please just stop pushing it - change your profile or signature to read "SOLTRONS GREAT, MATE".
Through difficulties to the bar (IMHO / FWIW / NWGOI)
First the little cats went out and fighted,
then the cats came in and fighted,
after that, the cats went out and fighted!
and that was the end of the little cats......MEOW
Snarl Spit Hiss...etc
Ok but you lot had better make sure that all of you are squeaky clean if you are gonna spout the rules then make sure that you arent breaking them next time you make a post.
Hey I never said that you cant see the results just said I wont post them on a BB. And not all of it is confidential. Look at the end of the day I dont give a **** about what you guys say and you can gang up together all you like but you aint gonna stop me knowing what I know. It doesnt matter how well you bend your words or say what you say you dont want to know the truth because it doesnt interest you.
You will never see results if you dont want to open your eyes.
So there might be some evidence, and although advertise the product here, you won't show any evidence here.
Our eyes are open, depsol. Just tell us where the evidence is. We've asked now several times today. There'll be URL's of loads of places where this stuff has been tested, especially if it improves diesel power/mpg by 10%. Or is it just 2% now, whatever. Or perhaps an email for the Mr Laxton? Anything. You have lots of potential customers. Okay, okay, you'll have lots of potential customers and can if you like NOT sell any to me cos I've been horrid.
Betcha you don't produce evidence. Betcha you do call me some more names.
No I will not stoop so low, if you want info come and get it seeing as you arent interested I'll bet that you wont come and get it.
That info is there its up to you I aint gonna post it on the BB just so idiots can take little extracts and riddicule it, I left school ages ago!
If anyone is seriously interested then it will be made available, I am not playing your silly games betcha wont do this betcha wont do that my boats bigger than your boat, he called me names sir, etc etc. Cmon this a forum not a playground. Everyone likes to have fun but you like it at other peoples expense.
No if you want the info so badly you can come and view it, if not, tough, find someone in you region that will give it to you.
er depsol, you keep saying "it's an enzyme, not a chemical". But enzymes have a chemcial composition, like everything else in the world, where everything is made up of elements joined at moelcular level as compounds, or not joined together as mixtures. There's a chemcial reaction and equation for whatever it does, as there is for combustion or digestion or anything else. An enzyme will probably obey the lock and key theory, senstive to the things with which it will react, and sensitive also to the temperature at which it will react. What reaction is supposed to take place? With what does it react? At what temperatures? Please explain.
Leave you lot alone for a few hours and just see what happens
Before I tip five gallons of best English Channel in the general direction of this thread:
a) all ybw.com forums encourage polite discourse and frown on abuse of users, however well you know one another;
b) not that long ago I posted a polite reminder that I thought the whole Soltron thing had run its course. In fairness, it's not Dom who often kicks it off...the impetus is usually from others who have adopted the whole subject with greater enthusiasm even than burgees. The words, bull, rag and red come to mind;
c) that said, Dom, I had previously failed to make the connection between Soltron, your company and Spirit of Cardiff. Call me a cynic but your posts highlighting Alan Priddy's efforts would therefore seem to be a little close to the edge when it comes to claiming that you never start these things. In a further reminder of forum rules this area is not for the commercial promotion of products by people with a vested interest;
Six of one and half-a-dozen of another. It looks like a nice sunset out of my office window...I'm going to catch the train and trust I won't see riot part II when I check in later.
Hey Depsol come on just run the debate dont attack people or get rude! Look, you said in an earlier post that you gave Priddy 20 litres, I then said you gave him £1000 worth in retail prices, you then yell at me saying you didn't give him a penny you only gave him 20 litres! What dope are you smoking, man? This is nothing to do with business confidentiality, unless that business is promoted on the BB.
He has heard of Laxton. Laxton used to work under my father. Obviously people in the power generation industry are never famous, but Laxton has considerably less experience and (I apologise for the lack of modesty in this comment) a notably less illustrious career in fossil fuel combustion engineering
The results of my 100hour testing in the Merc (which I described as half arsed) were clearly published in a post ages ago. But I'm not asking you for proof whether Solly works. I'm simply pointing out that no-one, anywhere on the web, not even its manufacturers/ distributors, have offered any proof. That speaks volumes.
Really. Must be the first ever such doc that doesn't have a summary, or a conclusion, or a data table, or some other few pages that could be photocopied to give perhaps a slight flavour of what it says.......
OK so lets forget Soltron, has anyone any experience of Fuel King. It is apparently a piece of kit you fit somewhere to the fuel system and it claims to improve efficiency, reliability and performance?
ALL OF YOU, put a sock in it! - you aint normally boring so don't start now.....I always look forward to the posts you lot make they are usually very entertaining; but all this rubbish...come on!!!
