I have been there too on the Hermitage mooring, it convenient amazing views but very very very bumpy, impossible to sleep. You are right though sometimes you have to do it yourself and learn the hard way.
An excellent location,very friendly bunch and a bargain price considering its location.
You just need to own something weighting around 50 tns,constructed like a brick whatsit and preferably with a couple of dozen lorry tyres tastefully arranged around the coaming.
Not the place for tupperware boats.
Suspect the comfort of your stay depends entirely on the amount of passing traffic and very much on the time of day.
On a busy weekend summer day at the peak of the tourist season it must be very "interesting"
