Hello there, and welcome to the forum. The answer to your question will completely depend on how big your boat is - but if it is too big to tow down yourself, and less than about 60 feet, then talk to one of the specialist boat trucking companies. I've just used Coast2Coast to move my Fairline Targa 40 from Southampton to the south of France, and they were absolutely brilliant - so you could do a lot worse than get a quote off them.
Got some quotes to go the opposite way a couple of years ago on a 35 ft flybridge.
A two well regarded smaller companies came out quite a bit cheaper due to no VAT being charged.
Try www.boat-shift.com based in Kent. However there are many hauliers that can do it, so do a web search and send off for a few quotes based on the details of your boat. You will find quite a bit of variation because it depends on how desparate they might be and particularly whether your needs will fit in with a back load. The one I suggest was the most competitive when I moved from Sant Carles to Poole and did a good job.
hello thanks for your message, we just doing some research at the min would ideally like to take it down ourselves, but unsure what legal amount to tow etc. my other half was thinking of making a trailer himself ( he does things like this for living) with a 7.5 tonne lorry with trailer???? If you dont mind me asking, what was yours like and did you rent it or do you own one. He also thought about going through the canals but im abit apprehensive about that one!lol many thanks for your quick reply though
After lots of research recently I found MCL UK were excellent (ask for Jason) you can google them. Big haulier with small haulier flexibility and prices. Make sure you ask for a backload and the price will be half. Typical rate from southern Spain to UK is £4.5k if that helps.
