New Guy Would Like To Say Hi

Hi all ,I have been looking around this forum but cant see where to say Hi officially. Anyway The name is Roy from Cardiff. Every since I have been a little boy I have been in love with the sea, and if I ever get down I take a trip to Cardiff Bay and just sit there to have a Coffee and lookout to sea.

Looking at all them boats and dreaming puts me right back on top. But now i think the dreaming must stop and I must make a move. Some time soon I'm thinking of selling my house and getting my own boat. The only problem is I know very little about sailing.

But if someone on here would like to have some company on a trip some place, and and would be willing to show me some of the things I need to learn
I would be more than willing to do my best to help on the trip.
I have no real commitments so could be available to sail at any time.

Come down and join up at Cardiff Yacht Club. theres always people looking for crew and you'll learn quickly and soon get an idea of what you need to/want to do. Especially now were into the winter loads of boats are desperate for an extra pair of hands for racing and as long as you can pull this/hold that youll quickly understand the bigger picture and theres also loads of videos on youtube about the basics of sailing, some great, some terrible but have a look through some and youll get an ideaof what to expect.

Thanks for your reply, I was down the Cardiff Yacht club last Saturday and spoke to the commodore. He was behind the Bar serving at the time but he told me to pop down there on a Thursday evening . I did go out today with a guy from cardiff Bay ,and I must say it was fantastic. I have also been following a couple of people on Youtube about the cruising life its brilliant to watch. I don't think i have seen the TV for over a month now ,all I do is follow the sailing Vids on Youtube. Anyway thanks for the Reply and I will pop over . Hope to meet you there at some time. Cheers Roy
