New Greek DEPKA ?

I am on my UK flagged cruising yacht in the Greek Islands.

Went into the Port Police on Leros to get the annual stamp in my DEPKA.

Got the stamp, but was told that there will be a new type of DEPKA that must be used from September 2017, and to make sure I obtained it in time. They couldn't give me any other information, except that it would cost me 50 Euro. The marina didn't seem to know anything about this.

Anyone who can fill me in on this issue? - this is the first I have heard of it.

Rod, there are two threads running in 'Liveaboard', both near the top of the list: one on experiences of actually getting the new DEKPA, one on various official 'interpretations' of how it will be administered. Needless to say there's a certain amount of random drift and cross-pollination between the two.

Which kind of begs the question: was the new DEKPA process designed on a forum? That might account for the mess ;)
 
I contributed to the other threads after the very simple process of getting a new DEKPA. This is my first year in Greece so not influenced by previous experience. I went to the Port Police in Lefkas with my insurance document, SSR, ICC and passport. A very efficient young lady completed the new form. I then went to the bank downstairs to pay the 50 euro fee. Returned upstairs with the receipt. She gave me the new DEKPA. All very simple! She told me I need to get the new form stamped at the beginning of each year and that's it unless I leave Greek waters.
I did mine about 5 weeks ago and nobody in front of me. I imagine there could be a queue at busier times

I will grit my teeth, gird my loins and go and do the bureaucratic dance sometime soon.

But, rhetorically, WTH didn't the Leros PP sell me a new one then and there - I and all the papers were on the spot.

All the expertise on this is on the Liveaboard forum. There seem to be posters there who are aware of the idiosyncracies of the port police in various harbours, so you might get a better answer based on some local knowledge there.

The problem as well as the Greek PP is , some people are posting al load of c@@p here and on other site which is confusing a lot of people , a friend of mine posted that two guys he know had to pay 400 euros for the tax which cause some worried to crusers and only after being push by me that some weeks late he admit. He got it all weong ,
bit late by then my email box was overflowing .
As I wrote else where , it's clear that this year people will have to buy a new DEPKA ( cruising log, PRIVATE PLEASURE MARITIME TRAFFIC DOCUMENT ) or what every you wish to call it , at a cost of 50 Euros , if like me you just re entered Greece you will have to pay another 15 euros .
the way of buying one as nearly everyone who as brought one as reported is PP first , then tax office , follow by the bank to pay for it then returning to the PP the collet it .
Hope this now clear things up .

Rod has clearly already been there and got the information he needs, in response to suggestions made earlier in the thread. His only remaining question, being rhetorical, requires no answer.
 
Happy Ending - for info :

Took the advice, went back to Leros PP with the required documents (plus 50 Euro :-) ), and in less than an hour, including the stroll to a bank to pay the 50 Euros and get a receipt, the new DEPKA was in my hands.

Sometimes things do work smoothly :-)

It was fairly straightforward once we had found the right building!
It cost 50 Euros + 2 Euros commission to the bank.
The main thing is to make sure you have the right paperwork with you and take copies if you can (saves them the hassle and photocopier queue!)

Welcome to YBW and also welcome to your new adventure as liveaboard.
The info should by now got through to everyone buying a new DEKPA , but a reminder doesn't hurt .
Don't forget to get it stamp before 12 months are up .
Enjoy the Ionian although you arrive at its busiest.

When getting it stamped make sure the renewal stamp is on the page at the very back and not just the page for arriving or leaving a port. I did not realise that there was this page at the back when I got the Dekpa stamped last October. Fortunately the Port Police in Lefkas did not make a big fuss that I was getting the annual stamp a few days late in May this year
