Whilst surfing I noticed a new Fleming 55 for sale on ebay.

Also seems to have been placed by the main dealer so is this the way that new boat sales are going? Do I have to buy unseen?

Great boats but odd way to sell 'em I think....

Anyone interested in clubbing together to bid or does Martin want a spare?

Nick

Incredible than anyone should actually bid for such an expensive item unseen. What makes you think the seller is the dealer? I just wonder whether this is the new owner trying to make a fast buck knowing that these boats are on long deliveries
I dont know exactly what these things sell for but there is an ad on ybw.com for a 2005 Fleming 55 in the USA (which is presumably a new boat) @ US $1,130,300 which is equivalent to £610,810 + 17.5% VAT = £717,700. Seems to me that at an e-bay reserve price of £840,000, somebody may be trying it on here

Quite frankly, I'm amazed someone would bid £850k and agree to a 10% deposit within 10 days with an ebay seller who has a single, solitary rating point!

And the high bidder's history doesn't suggest he/she normally spends this sort of money :/

At least a couple of the items were a fishing reel and servicing manuals for a 250hp outboard, but still not quite Fleming stuff! /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif
