New Ferretti

Well a bit like the choice of transplant mobile , in the boat world the Italians need not look far, so many great brands to choose at every level .
Theres a 50 + early 54 @ 2.0 on here .

To put it politely, let's say that neither of us can know for sure what swung it, and we can only make guesses.
But mine is that ride quality had nothing to see with that, because FB boats are even more famous than Itamas in this respect - on top of their speed/efficiency/safety (self-righting, built in structural foam and unsinkable, etc.).
You can't establish a NYC-Bermuda world record with a 41' boat, averaging 40 kts, with a hull that can't handle waves, you know...
My guess would be the company that gave the biggest back handler got the contract...........it is Italy !

That might well be a good guess, but I can't agree with your explanation of it: Italy just happens to be in planet Earth, it's that simple.
It might have a bit of a reputation for this stuff, but that's just due to the fact that some Italians see that as something to be proud of, to talk about at pubs, and so forth.
In my first hand experience, within Europe there are other Countries which are the real pros at that, and they are north, not south of the Alps.
BUT, their citizens are much more strict in keeping their big mouth shut about it, I must give that to them.

Those Itamas ride very bow high. I know somebody who would call them typical flat bottomed Italian boats:LOL:
