New Fairline F//LINE

Yup, that comes through as a thrilling ride indeed. :encouragement:
Actually, it would be annoying if it weren't, considering the available power.

The overall finishing also looks pretty good.
Among other details, they must have been inspired by my suggestion on F&S retractable cleats in this thread, I reckon.
The teak planks design/layout needs attention, though. Btw, it's a bit surprising that in these days of pre-cut, CAD-optimized decks, they didn't do better right from the start.

As an aside, is Jack still alive? I would have shooted him if he boarded my boat with shoes on, let alone inside the cabin! :p

I've seen dodgy teak on previous 1st off the line Fairlines - perhaps the first is hand cut before they CAD it?

Regards shoes in board, maybe in the cockpit but never inside.

And what's his obsession with fuel burn? Doesn't he know that someone's wife might be watching?

Yes good point buts it’s smaller .
It might be aimed under the other two not at them .
In which case a different demographic of buyer .
There’s room for product development say a 38 or 42 as well in fact a whole range maybe one day a 50 something?

Princess R35 - 10.88m (inc bathing platform)
Fairline F33 - 10.00m (exc bathing platform)

Length at the waterline must be pretty similar.

Seems a bit slow for that amount of power, Petrols sound great but try shifting it on the secondhand market. Diesels are much the favoured engine option.

I loved the buttons on steering wheel at 2:40. That’s normal in a car but very good going for a low volume product. They should fit that to all their boats.
I saw the f33 in Cannes and it’s a very good looking boat.

Depends what those buttons do. If all they do is adjust the volume/channels for the radio then they're not worth having but if they do stuff like zooming the plotter or adjusting the tabs/leg angle, then thats very useful. Agree its a good looking boat and I wish Fairline well with it

I suppose they must think it's a sort of magic number, worth putting in the brochure.
If they would aim at the segment of the market who really wants to go that fast, those throttles aren't fit for purpose, to start with...

For me, these boats are all about the builders ego. They don’t add anything to the business, nor the bottom line. If you want a fast tender, there are many options. These are not starter boats for buyers to walk up the brochure to larger boats.

Really? Can any builder afford to launch a new model just for their egos these days and whose ego at Fairline is being massaged by the F33? My guess is that the factory was under pressure from their dealers to get back into the Targa 30/34/38 market where many of them must have made their fortunes in the past. Only problem is that the market has changed with the advent of walk around boats like the Axopar and there are an awful lot of manufacturers out there in this sector of the market, including many building in lower cost countries than the UK

Do you see the F33 as a replacement for the T34? Totally different market for me.

Read somewhere recently the Hythe site only s finished 2 68 ,s since it opened and they are laying off 40: pax locally because they are slipping back to road transport from Oundle (
The build it by the sea idea hasn’t panned out with the current range .
Up story being put out is the new 82 ( which can’t be road transported ) will be the knight in shining armour and cure all past sins :) ——-
In the mean time to help stem the £££ haemorrhage the Hythe sites gonna open up a bit more to general public with other brand maintenance, use of hoist / yard etc .After all it needs to cover costs somehow if the new build profit side from largish boats that aren’t selling isn’t contributing enough.
There’s a lot of balls in the air at the moment, ......and an inevitability of gravity.

They gonna have to shift a lot of F33 ,s to help prop up most of those balls .imho .

No, of course not but it gives Fairline dealers something to offer in the sub 40ft market which Fairline vacated some time ago. I wouldnt be surprised if the plan is to produce a range of sub 40ft F line models if the 33 is well received. It would seem a strange business decision just to produce one standalone F line model
