I am thinking of taking the boat North of the boarder for a few years would it be acceptable to fly an ensign with the St George cross in the upper corner or would that be just bad form.:rolleyes:

If you really wanted to pissem off then you could get up at six am every day and Morris Dance on the foredeck as a sort of cultural tradition......

How many times has a perfectly respectable evening been ruined by some plank in a skirt playing the bleeding bagpipes....

I am thinking of getting bespoke foulies I think a broad pinstripe would help in maintaining my cultural heritage and dignity whilst hoisting my colours and perhaps petard.:D

Please feel free to fly such an ensign.

In fact, I imagine it would also be greatly beneficial for you if you were to talk very loudly in public places (bars, shops etc) so that everyone can hear that you are indeed from Englandshire, in case there were any doubt at all.

We have a shortage of FEB's up here, so if you can honour us with your presence, we would forever be in your debt.

I imagine you will fit in very well indeed. When you arrive, please let me know. I would love to take you to some drinking establishments, which are just full of character. Please bring the ensign with you, it would be such a hoot..........

A welcome in the hillside

I will look forward to it but in all sincerity having spent years diving, climbing stalking and even working not to mention drinking in some very colourful and "characterful" establishments across the border I am sure that I will feel at home and fit in.;)

I am very sure you will Pete

The Scots will love you Pete.... I have yet to see you hesitate to get a round in, in fact you are usually the first to the bar...... a trait which I am sure will go down well north of the border... (You no doubt have noted my Scottish paternity...)

You'll be fine then.

After decades of intensive research I have come to the realisation that the principal difference between the two nations at the bar is that Gordon* strives to be first to get a round in while Henry strives to be last.

:p

* Aberdonians excepted obviously.

This is the ensign appropriate for an English yacht visiting Scotland
