Yep, Tecma are superb, we've got them and they are def the best we've ever had. It might be in that thread but I think there was an offshoot of Tecma started up, called Planar ? Same tech.
Our Tecmas have never blocked or had any issues with the loo or it's pumping etc, only thing I've encountered is the solenoid valve that lets the flush water in on 1 of the loos has got calcium(?) build up and had to be removed and Viakalled. But I'm guessing that could happen with any proprietary solenoid and the valve is in the supply pipe not in the loo unit itself so easy to get to and fix.

Just check out that you have space for the tecma under the plinth.
I bought one for my Sealine only to find a stretcher right where the tecma wanted to go. Got my money back but now resigned to suffer the noise of an electric conversion.

That must me a low profile model. In my Tecma everything is in the loo bar the fresh water solenoid (remote) and the switch panel (also remote). It does mean in my sealine the seat is a bit high as it sits on a plinth, but it's fine.

That’s really interesting. I hadn’t realised that by selecting the low profile I had in fact created a problem for myself.
I assume that you used the existing water pump and that supply was adequate.
When my electric Jabsco conversion fails (again) I shall re-investigate.

Yes correct. And for the aft heads where I really couldn’t fit a tecma without major surgery, I just fitted the fresh water solenoid to the existing electric loo, and blanked off the salt inlet. All from the normal pump.

Following this thread with interest but maybe the way to go is to source a Tecma from Paul knight to replace the Jabsco manual?

The OP's boat is a Targa 40 and the Tecma won't work because it is too tall. The oe toilet is a low Jabsco, which is mounted on a plinth, which in turn doesn't have enough space to accommodate the low Tecma.

Hmm yes, this thread has drifted somewhat.... I already have my replacement toilet, just need it fitting due to electrics needed and a pump......
Perhaps start a Tecma thread.......... lol.

If you’re looking for a recommendation for an engineer to fit said toilet, I would highly recommend Stuart Miles of Global Marine, he’s based in Southampton, hugely experienced, very reliable, and is one of the few I would let work on our boat. Can get contact numbers if interested.

And rather bizarrely one of our solenoids stopped letting flush water in so last weekend I stripped it down and Viakalled it.
Photos below :
Here's the complete solenoid in situ
Don't know why but the 1st 2 pics have got turned upside down in loading them on here !
The valve body with the Winding block and multi plug removed, you can see the plunger body in brass with the thread on top , that whole section unscrews and is removed for cleaning the valve seating faces.
Plunger assy mid way through cleaning, it was stuck inside the body but a few doses of Vialkal released it and it now moves perfectly.
Altogether a pretty easy job really and nice that the solenoids are accessible in the bilge area and not tucked away upside down in the loo body.
