New Coast and Llanddwyn Island

A bit complicated to explain, but the island is mini geological plate, with numerous strata of different rock including old lava pillows caused by underwater lava flows.

You'll have to check it on iPlayer.

Have to go, Dr Alice Roberts is trying to seduce me.

I really enjoyed the whole programme, amazed that didn't mention the costa de la north wales mob

A huge variety of rock structures around Anglesey. There are Basalt rocks "pillars" like the Giant's Causeway in Nothern ireland in beween Trearddur Bay and Porthdafarch. The recent "improvements" in the Trearddur Bay sea defences have resulted in beach erosure and the exposure of ancient buried forest ; the size of the tree trunks is quite amazing!

Does anyone know anything about the wall half way down the mountainside beween the breakwater in Holyhead and North Stack? Just above "Porth Newydd", = New Port.

No idea about that, but it's clearly built in 2 stages, halfway down with no apparent function or path to it. Wartime defence / observation post maybe?

After watching the first part of the new series of coast, I will never see Llanddwyn Island in the same light again.

Booger! Missed it. The whole area though was hugely volcanic, with the Snowdon range being some of the oldest (obviously extinct) volcanoes on Earth - about 4Bn years old.

I'll see it on i-Player. Thanks for the tip off.

Her orange period was particularly striking.

But, to be fair, she had her variously coloured red hair from her first TV appearance and has now gone natural.
