Teak and holly is difficult to replicate but marine ply varnished to seal, then draw in lines with black marker pen further coats of varnish will replicate teak and ebony.
I did the above but after routing, applied one coat of varnish including in the grooves to prevent staining of the bare ply, then used waterproof tile grout for the for caulking and varnished over the lot with silver sand in the mix for slip proofing. 25 years later and it is still looking good! Cost - exterior ply at £12 per sheet (then) and about £2 for tile grout. Todays prices about £25 for exterior ply and £5 for grout.
So it should work then - brilliant, I thought it would look great but wasn't sure abut he strength of the ply post routing. I could maybe use it for headlining as well (at least on the cabin sides) but that would need to be 6mm or 9mm.
