Hi
I just bought a Prestige 32 from the same dealer, also picking up in March / April. The son was very professional and made the transaction very easy with service history and invoices available. He also insisted on shakedown and service before I pick the boat up. May well see you over there.
Sorry, missed this. Glad to hear you have had a similar experience. See you soon!!

I love the way the 'Europeans' seem to look after their boats. Winter sheds, covers etc. Just a trawl through the classifieds shows how well the used boats are kept/presented. We could all learn a lesson or two.

Wow,what a Christmas present!
Lovely boat,congratulations.

Some on here could learn from you, found it,bought it,done and dusted in how long?:)

For those interested...

We started looking for the right type of boat in October and asked for views on here. Having decided that the Jeanneau was the best fit, we then set about searching the Internet.
Our boat sold in November so that ramped up the search! A couple of UK boats were of interest but did not quite work out, so we widened the Internet search and started finding out about buying from the continent. YBW searches helped here as there are lots of threads.

We eventually found this boat on the EYB website. I got into an email conversation with the broker who answered every question. Once again, Forumites helped reassure me about buying abroad. The fact that they were the Belgium Jeanneau Dealer helped too.

We booked the trip for last week as I work weekends and had to wait for the holiday. A price was agreed in principle and the surveyor was booked. After that it was an exciting day trip to Belgium to see a lovely boat.

I organised the purchase of Euros through an online broker that was recommend by the Martin Edwards website (cheaper than the banks and very good service by email and phone.) A rather scrambled trip to the bank to Chaps them the funds and they sent it onto the broker - boat now mine!

The final steps are to sort out the Belgique and British paper so I have a bill of sale and the invoice etc but the broker is sorting this.

In all, a lot more straightforward than expected!
