Hi All,

Just thought I share some pics of our new boat - a 2011 Targa 44. We took delivery mid December and had a quick weekend out to Cowes and an empty Solent prior to Christmas.

Key for us (after the open vs HT debate) was two cabins with two ensuite heads as we spend a lot of time with other couples and no matter how friendly you are, two heads is always a bonus!

Currently debating on whether we'll leave her in the Solent at the moment or move her to sunnier climes.

Part-exed for our S34 with Essex Boatyards who provided excellent service throughout the transaction. Really couldn't have asked for anything more and given the service (marked up pictures, texts, e-mails responded to even very late evening etc etc), it felt like I was speccing Match 2 at times, not just some "minor" upgrades to the T44!

We're very excited with the purchase and praying for some decent weather this season to enjoy her.

Anyway, some pics. Mix of sizes I'm afraid - hope they work..

Cheers, Mat

Looks a stunning boat Matt I can't wait to see her. Maybe next week.

A great choice, very well built boat , no doubt will be economical too on the drives .

Lovely boat, I hope you have great times ahead on her.

Btw, sorry about the very similar user name (I had no idea you existed :D). I will seek a way to change my user I'd to something different.

Good luck with the new boat, and if she were mine I'd definitely investigate options for somewhere sunnier!

Hey - no probs with the user name, don't post that much so you wouldn't have seen me - trying to contribute more where I can! Thanks for the comments.

Boat?

I think you can start to use the "Motor Yacht" with zero probability of anyone sniggering when they see what you are referring to :)

Looks fab, Congrats!

Fab boat, congratulations. Wishing you many happy times on board. PS that style of canvas is particularly well suited to the Med ... :D

Cheers

Thanks all. Was thinking the same re the canvas - take it off/put it on, once per season. :)

She's on sterndrives on D6 330s which I was a bit nervous about at first with regard to enough oomph but she'll do 32-33kn with fuel and water so quite happy there. Fast cruise about 27 which is more than enough for us. Very neutral (almost boring) handling, does what she's supposed to and doesn't wander around. More importantly enough fridge space to keep a few people happy for a while. Obviously hungry but well watered..

Can't wait to play some more!

Well wear, enjoy!!

I'm sure its a nice upgrade from the S34, maybe a shock to you!! I still can't come to terms with my new (to me) boat... I'm used to camping and now have a 37ft'er (Smeraldo 37) - its like a new world!! Sometimes I feel we're too spoiled, you're probably the same with all the new space!

Keep the fridge on, keep the spirits up, and give her hockey!

Thanks all for the good wishes. Main aim is to not smack the swim platform into the pontoon! Had a couple of days of training already so have started to come to terms with the extra length.
