New Boat, Swedish Delta "Yacht" - anyone got any info? Jack?

surely the 10lt/h is a typo, right?
Yep sorry I meant 10 litre per n mile

Interesting to hear everyone's comments, thanks. I agree them all. I know nothing about build quality if this thing, or interior flimsiness, or anything. I'm just going from pics. I need to find out which boat show this thing will be at next and take a trip to see it. If any of our Scandinavian friends on here know of scandi boat shoes coming up please shout. The thing might even be going to the med. it has Bimini and airco. I can't see whether there is a passerelle. Hull # 2 is in build and that would be nice to see too. I'll research next week

The flybridge should have been stretched both forward and back, like this rough mock up
I don't think the forward stretch would be feasible as in your "after" pic, because it looks like they went as forward as allowed by the raised p/house underneath.
To stretch the accessible f/b space further foward, you should also raise it - probably half a meter or so - which would be hard to do without spoiling the look.

Can't comment on all the rest, because I know nothing on the boat.
But I surely agree with those who said that they wouldn't want IPS on a boat like this.
Btw, 37kts begins to be Arneson territory.
I know it might seem a weird propulsion for a long range cruiser, but I'd rather consider that than IPS, if the focus has to be on efficiency (with the good old shafts hands down for seakeeping).

I love those windows which look almost seamless from the helm position. I wonder if any builder has fitted the glass which can be turned opaque at the flick of a switch, that would be a great mod for this boat.

And yes, that f/b looks tiny for the size of boat, definitely needs extending. And those horrible black boxes at the helm need to disappear, in fact the whole area needs a complete re-design, even I at 6' 4" wouldn't be able to reach the wheel from the helm seat.

Just out of interest John, why do you say that this would be a keeper whereas your Match and its predecessors were not?

It looks like choise of Passerelle , normal one and/ or one of those step type from the bathing flatform ,that also doubles up as great ladder into the water ( for ladies of a certain age to enter/ exit the sea to bath elegantly ) .
Hi low platform ? Handy if poss too ?So you can bin the tender @ anchor without phaff ing with a crane - generally declutter the fly

I'm pretty sure I've been on the 54 and it was very nice -- possibly at Cannes but not this year ( which makes little sense as I didn't think it had been around that long). My memories were that noone spoke French nor English when we went on board. Im getting old, my memory isn't serving me well.

They have brokers in Monaco and Golfe Juan ( but the Golfe Juan address may even be a private residence??) but given their size surely a case of direct?

They will be at BOOT and given they are in the "Large Powerboat Hall" (next to Princess), I suspect there is a possibility she will be there?

hmm, having seen the interior pics, I am disappointed. Almost every piece of structure and furniture seems to end in a sharp right angle, and the overall effect is of a boat which does not 'cuddle' you with subtle curves.

I expect a lot of that is cosmetic and can be changed but there's a lack of empathetic architectural psychology in ver#1.

I really like the "Yacht". I note that the boat has a tender garage which might explain the smaller flybridge. I assume that even with the tender stowed that there will be full access to the engines?

I also really like the clean lines of the 26 Open and the 33 Open. The smaller one would make a great "villa boat" having all the essentials - i.e. a bog, a fridge, table, lots of deck space for sunbathing and good for 50+ mph. Wonder how much it is?

I have been aboard the 54 (son in law) and several of their smaller offerings both in sweden and the USA over the last number of years. They are a small firm but around for quite a while owned by three "nutters for design" into producing performance craft. If memory serves me correctly these are manufactured at the same facility as Swan yachts.
Their reputation for quality build is excellent, as are their sales judging by the number of vessels around (Quote son in law) and the number ive seen.
The designer is Lars Modin and construction all carbon fiber, ive been around and between the islands at frightening speeds to me (give the old fellow a heart attack) but the 54 handles like its on rails. the closest in build quality to me is Fairline (having owned one) leaves most other brands UK and Italian far behind (yes, ive owned italian) attention to detail is excellent as to the design - you like or hate it - these are built for day to day quick economic commuting between lots of islands year round in confined waters - however they are pricey
No personal ax to grind or interest in Delta would have a 54 here tomorrow but a bit too rich for my blood maybe when second hand hit the market in a couple of years.

If they will work with you, I think this could be a brilliant project, certainly needs a lot of mods and whilst the interior looks very clean, it's a bit too Ikea for me!

I understand that's it's about 48t, don't know the hull config though, but to achieve that low level of consumption it may have very flat aft sections, so that it planes very easily. 3 x 1200hp engines would suggest a higher consumption, when compared to smaller/lighter boats, even allowing for the IPS. I would certainly want to sea trial one of these to confirm consumption & particularly the ride/handling in moderate/rough seas.

No point having the smartest, most frugal boat in the marina, if it's not up to some rough passages!

But you are a very shrewd boat owner, so I suppose I'm telling 'my grandma to suck eggs!'..

the closest in build quality to me is Fairline (having owned one) leaves most other brands UK and Italian far behind
As I previously said, I can't evaluate this specific boat - nor the yard which builds her, so I don't.
But if I'm correct in applying the transitive relation to your sentence, you are actually suggesting that FL build quality leaves most other UK and IT brands far behind.
And I'm afraid this sweeping generalization demands an appropriate flag... :)

It is actually more like 88 foot at 25.88m.
The Princess 88 is about 700.000 Euro cheaper and is 1m longer.

All provided I got all the details straight from various sources that is and that there are some price differences depending on how the Euro is doing atm.
