New boat day.

That's about 2 litres to the mile, bearing in mind the state of the prop and punching the tide is probably about right. Also the average speed takes into account the approach to Cowes, the River Medina where I was probably stationary while Helen got the fenders and lines ready and berthing in East Cowes. Navionics says my maximum was 26 knots which I think is wildly optimistic. I had no autopilot and the vis was poor so steered the whole way by compass or following the track on the chartplotter. Total distance (according to nav) was 99NM, I wonder how much an autopilot would have reduced that.

Looks like a lovely boat and yesterday was certainly a lovely day for a run down to Newtown in the afternoon. Just be interested to see how she handles in roughe weather as you might notice a few more differences then . Worked out how much you burn on the 4 hour run to jersey ?

From experience, after a yacht,I would say it’s best not to?
