After a Coronavirus-enforced delay of 10 weeks we're collecting our new boat tomorrow. So this is a public note of thanks to those who have helped on this sail-to-power journey, including...

- Clipper Marine, for holding the handover, berthing the boat FOC for 10 weeks, and deferring the warranties
- Premier Marinas, for deferring our berth until we're ready, and giving us a few free weeks
- CGI Finance, for enacting a deal when physical presence was impossible
- LA Law, for seeing us through registration
- The MCA, for allowing Part I registration on copy copy copy paperwork and PDFs, instead of physical originals, slate tablets, and thumbprints
- Y Yacht Insurance, for insuring the boat whilst in Clipper's possession but our ownership
- NatWest Bank, amazingly, for discounted CHAPS and a bottle of champagne to christen the boat
- Mark (Elsessar) for inspiring Mrs Scala, a lovely day out last autumn, and lots of good advice
- Shane (macanderson) who first suggested what we have ended up doing
- David (DAW) for helping me to decide that a 53' Sunseeker, no matter how gorgeous, was the wrong boat
- Portofino for his knowledge of Cummins and MAN
- Volvopaul, for input, suggestions and support on owners, engines, surveyors, suppliers, and brokers
- The Welsh Med mob who have made me laugh a lot, even though I know none of them at all, not even slightly
- Those other forum members who have been vaguely or enthusiastically supportive

and Mrs Scala, not a member on here or anywhere else, who remains an inspiration to me and her NHS colleagues.

Pix tomorrow all being well.

You cant disown the Welsh Mob so easily. When's the boat christening? Where's our invite? We have faith there will be much libation to the gods and even more for us. Roy will be happy to stump the funds for the local dancing troupe to round things off. Kwakkers will even bring his own ashtray (y) ?

Well the weather was abolutely shocking at times today (very windy and torrential rain), but nonetheless we have managed a bit of (slow) trip down the Hamble with some manoeuvring and parking practice aka pontoon bashing. All good, managed to get into the berth neatly and without touching anything, on the first time of trying. No wake shots though :)

Mrs Scala very pleased. On the whole a great day, very happy.

Canopy needs sorting out although to its credit it proved itself to be waterproof.

does She have a Large Ash Tray!
?
I thought you'd be bringing your own :)

Now that's smart. That'd make a great party boat. Hamble you say? Isn't that where the grass bowling brigade boat? That's dire, put it on a truck. Plenty space up here.
