I may be wrong however listening to 5 Live today it seems that the military do not have the legal requirement/right to carry arms in urban areas only the police have this capability. So how do you fight terrorists if you cannot use any of your weaponry, the powers that be have just over a couple of hundred days to sort that little problem out. Might be a good time to go away for an extended cruising holiday.

The SAS seemed to manage ok at the Iranian embassy. I think they call it military aid to civil powers.
