New Antenna

All good Mike, now you just need to resurrect the anchor chain counter project using the Pi, I have played with the GPIO's with the grandkids, I like the Pi, just wish I had more time to play/contribute....

I think I've finished my anchor counter using an Arduino - not a Raspberry Pi.
I say "think" because I'm in the process of upgrading the windlass and it needs a new relay box (different motor)
All the bits coming out with me on Saturday so I should have it all working soon.

In the Raspberry Pi favour though, I managed to fix my neighbour's PC last week.
The CMOS had become corrupt and it wouldn't reset itself to factory defaults using hardware jumpers etc.
So, I rigged up a Raspberry Pi to the CMOS chip, loaded a copy of Raspbian and uploaded a new copy of the latest firmware for that board onto the chip directly - just using the Raspberry Pi.
This was really a last ditch attempt - the PC should have been thrown in the bin.
But, amazingly, the RPi reprogrammed the CMOS chip and the PC sprung into life.
So, there are many uses for this really interesting piece of kit.

Now that really impresses me - if only I could retire, great fun, bet you enjoyed that.

I like the RPi, downloaded lots of code and compiled an APP for iPhone on an Mac emulator, which was fun, but working full time and having to repair iPhone and iPad screens, quad bikes, lawnmowers and a mini motorbike in the queue for kids and grandkids I just don't have any spare time to play..... Still. out to SCM on Thursday!

We are out on Saturday evening - see you then
