Anybody know a good source of guardrail netting? There is a flock of birds that chose my boat as their personal toilet while my neighbour who has netting has his decks perfectly clean.I guess the birds cant land on his boat becuse of it.

it looks as if they were set up in different years (2003, 2007) and have registered offices at different addresses, with different directors, and also different website designers.

As you say, aiming to cover different market areas, with the occasional overlap.

Having used one or other over the last five years, I am pleased to see an old-fashioned industry surviving and indeed flourishing in the West Country.

I got mine from Jimmy Green.

OK, my mistake. There was a larger company in Bridport called Bridport Gundry which did the whole range including some specialist aviation nets but I think went belly up, and the former employees set up the new companies. Either way, Bridport's the place for netting! A wider choice and cheaper than a chandlers, that's for sure.

Is your boat in Portugal as/your 'location'.

Manx Fish Producers Organisation Ltd, , Mill Road East Quay, Peel IOM may be a long way to go..... best value I've ever found, tax free too.

We successfully use strawberry netting. Easily available from garden centres and costs about £1 a roll. Naturally enough birds hate it.

We get plenty of net washed up on West Coast beaches. I've used masses of it for enclosures in the garden.

I've just put on some bird netting I bought from the loca cooperative. If it works I'll make something more permanent. As I left the boat the little blighters were already circling it bu not dearing to land because I was there.Charming little things but they can krap their own weight each night.
