Had a quick look at one of these for sale today. Won`t say where in case the owner is on line and gets exited. Looked awesome, really cool. No knowledge of this boat type. Anyone know about them?

Have recently looked at several from about £15k (original single-engined ship's boats) to £35k (upgraded with twins and interior upgrade.
In fact there is one for sale being refurbed in my local yard if you're interested.
The feedback from owners and honest brokers is that cos of narrow beam they're incredibly wet - high speed circular wipers essential simply to see where you're going - and roll like a pig in a swell.
I decided against, but please PM for more.

This one is quite recent, for the model, 1997/98.
It caught my eye because it stood out against all the normal marina Motorboat stuff. Like a Fairey Huntsman looks beside a Sealine or Bayliner, if you know what I mean.

Ok That explains the high performance wipers.
Don`t fancy that roll too much either.
Some day I will find the perfect boat.

Maybe its a time thing
Maybe in 2049 people on marina pontoons will stop what they are doing, look wide eyed and slack jawed with wonder, before shouting, "My god, look, its a Sealine SC35! People really knew how to design boats back then."

The nelson 34 is quite narrow with restricted accomodation also look st the Halmatic 34 which is also known as the Weymouth 34 and the Humber 34. awesome boats, I had one.

They do not roll when you are under way, but because of the underwater hull shape being "round", they tend to roll at rest.

I think its more the 'human nature' prayer;

Someday I will find the perfect:

Car

House

Holiday experience

Golf clubs

You get the drift.

Seconded!!!!

Am sitting on my Weymouth 34 right now. They have all the Nelson looks but with a massive 3.3m beam and endless space on board. They're really well thought through. Yes, they're wet in a big sea but fine on a calm day. And, boy, can they cope with big seas with aplomb, while all is dry inside. The feeling of comfort and security on board as you look out through big commercial windscreen wipers wiping away spray from big seas is beyond compare IMHO.

They're not cheap - maybe commanding a premium now over a Nelson - but as they've depreciated as far as they will go and will always have a following, you won't lose money other than upkeep and keeping it somewhere. Big old Fords are have a very modest fuel consumption, hilariously cheap parts and they sound soooo good to boot.

Go find one online and see what you think!

NB Mine's not for sale for all the tea in China...

totaly agree with you unbeatable sea boats ive never had to back the power off in any condition, and they are built properly to comercial standards
