Need to work on the mast? How about scaffolding?

When I was in Marmaris a very big yacht with a mast high enough to need five spreaders came in. Evidently they needed to work on it, but did not climb it except to attach the jib of a big mobile crane. They craned the mast out, laid it on trestles on the dockside, did whatever was needed, and craned it back in the following day. I was told that it only cost between €300 & €400 to crane it in and out, so well worth it to avoid having to work at a great height, particularly if something heavy, like the radar scanner, needs work.

To be fair, there was a radome the size of a Smart car on the dockside awaiting installation.

Yes, scaffolding seems to be the way to go. This was in Holyhead.
