Need to work on the mast? How about scaffolding?

I guess if you have to go up the mast, this might be a good a good way to do it...

When I was in Marmaris a very big yacht with a mast high enough to need five spreaders came in. Evidently they needed to work on it, but did not climb it except to attach the jib of a big mobile crane. They craned the mast out, laid it on trestles on the dockside, did whatever was needed, and craned it back in the following day. I was told that it only cost between €300 & €400 to crane it in and out, so well worth it to avoid having to work at a great height, particularly if something heavy, like the radar scanner, needs work.
