Need Someone To Ship a Princess 35 from Conwy to Medway ASAP !

Sensible
Yes concerns about the weather and age of vessel etc the trip could be a three day Gig or a three week one!
Can't guarantee an FI Southerly but I would guarantee I would fall asleep at the Helm at 5 kts!

That would be the auto pilot in charge then with the two of us dozing on the fly bridge, just need the A/P to turn left at Lands end.
Perhaps we could just run on the port tank and hope the list eventually turned her in the right direction of the Solent.

Wouldn't draining the port tank cause the boat to turn to starboard?

Hi K.
Did seriously considering bringing the old girl by water and if you can guarantee
Southerly F1 moderating for the entire journey and we do it a 5knts max to save fuel might reconsider. :):):)

Should have bought a boat with outdrives, then you could have afforded the fuel bill to bring it home by sea :p

Yea but......
Due to the number of times you have had to stop on the way round
to fix the jack shaft bearings and seals
fix the leaking steering fork seals
Fix the gear selector seals
Repaired the reversing lock mechanism
replaced all four rams
and mebbe the hoses.
replaced the prop shaft seal cos 6" of fishing line got wrapped round it.
completely rebuild leg cos top bearing and pinion has collapsed
replaced/repaired hydraulic lift pump
replaced the U/J drive coupling
finally got both fly and saloon Bowden cables to engage gear at idle instead off 3800 rpm
A few measly extra litres of diesel will seem a bargain price to pay.
For more details read just about every forum post since Noah posted his first question. :):):)
Ps Have I forgotten anything.

I must be the luckiest SOB around. 20 years of owning outdrives and literally thousands on NM, and not affected by a single thing from that list. I wish I was as lucky in love :D

You're buggered Fred, they've knocked down the Grain power station chimney.
If you think buying at boat is stressful.
The first transport company engaged was the cheapest but unable to move until 19th.
The next one engaged was a lot more money but when he redid his calculations, the boat would have been to high using his particular trailer.
Next one could do it a little bit bit sooner and was a little bit cheaper.
A search of the interweb produced several companies but only one rang back, a company in Lincolnshire.
Gave the details and he rang me back in 10 mins with price and much earlier delivery,an hour later he had posted the wide load thingy to the Police and everything was sorted.

PS. Not to enamoured with that marina just downstream of where you kept your old boat.

Was wandering round trying to get lift in this Thursday.
My usual man Terry would have charged under a £100 quid with his crane but he is out of action after a fall.
MDL Chatham man working lock was too stressed to quote me a price, and when pushed later on said they were not lifting this week and far too busy the next week , so clear off.
Medway Bridge could not lift the day I wanted but were reasonably cheap, however the access through village and down that hill is a nightmare and they only launch at high water.
Cuxton wanted to charge me £ 240 and the truck would have needed to cross that rail line and their yard is hardly the best patch of cinders in known universe and the slip needs at least an attempt to clean some of the mud off and of course launching only at high water.

So it was off round to Gillingham Marina......
Yes Sir (we like that) please sit down how can we help ?
Yes of course.. Thursday no problem...and if he turns up Wednesday early or late we will sort it leave it to us
....and all for well under £200.
Well done Gillingham.
