The air filter mesh use to be known as a seagull catcher by Sabres.

How many hours have the engines done, as it might be worth while taking the inlet side cover off the turbos & washing with parafinn or similar and also washing the fans at the same time. I dont suggest the same with the outlet side , but some times it is worth cutting off the crusty echaust deposits off the area in the down stream side of the exhaust turbo blades.
