Need a good cool box. Advice please.

I just find it amazing that people will pay hundreds of pounds for an insulated box with no powered cooling of any descrption.

Sorry if that offends anyone ... just my opinion. I only use such for carrying cold stuff from one place to another ....

I’d flip that round. Most “cheap” actively cooled boxes have poor insulating design/materials/lids. They spent the money on the electronics instead. Even then many will only keep stuff cold rather than cool it down (or not quickly). I find it amazing that people will pay as much for a badly designed product that consumes huge amps as one that actually works well with no input!

I bought a VEVOR - based on recc'ds on this forum and also price. Once I had it out of the shipping box - I plugged it in ... ambient temp was ~25C. It took a few hours - but I had set it to +1c to see whether it really did the job ... Boy did it just !!

It has now been used for BBQ celebration ... providing builders working on my house with cold drinks ... all time working in over 25C humid conditions.

It has been plugged in for near two weeks now and power consumption is very low ..... and its very very quiet.

Price ? well under 300 euros express shipped to my door .... 20L size ... from Vevor ... compare that to the Yeti box !

Based on that - I have to differ with your statement.
