I have a Neco 892 unit which is very erratic. Does anyone know if anyone can fix these old units?

Anything can be fixed as long as it hasn't been smashed up.
WHen you say 'Erratic', exactly what do you mean. I have a Neco onboard my yacht as my power hungry autopilot.
Have you altered anything onboard, have you swung her recently?

Sometimes it works well sometimes it doesn't. The sensor/rudder don't seem to do much on full or less. Is there someone you know that can check the head unit for me?

The man you need is not too far away from you.
Derek Coventry - ex Neco man.
He serviced my unit a couple of years back - he has all the kit to test the unit.
Two years on I don't know if he is still operating but worth an email.
I've sent you a PM (only because I think it unfair to publish his email address if he has actually now retired from this work).

Thanks, have contacted him but my unit is beyond his scope as he can not test those units.....shame.
