Nearly Mine

IF you get stopped on the welsh border , just say you are representing King Edward the first , and state Stand Aside and Away with you . If they don't open the border soon , we will be tacking a garrison from Stoke .

Use the two 'eyes' on the transom to secure the blunt end. Use the 'D' ring at the pointy end to secure to the trailer
I never use straps always ropes (hate straps) and never have a strap/rope or whatever 'pulling' or rubbing on the hull
You don't need a 'sway bar' or any exra gadgetts to stop the plot swinging about
The paltry safety wire that sometimes come with these rigs are a bit scimpy
Again, if I am towing a long way I rig up a seperate, extra security line
Again normally with rope
If you give Me a nod when you are leaving or when you are readying to leave
Just a call, I am 20 mins away from your boat
Don't mind casting an eye over the set up before you leave
The Fee would be 20 'kingsize' and a pork pie from the local butcher, by the way!
It’s an offer you can’t refuse NSL.

NSY, take Kwackers up on his offer to check it out for you, he is nuts but a very capable professional!

Hear hear and dont confuse our little banter for fact. Elessar was right earlier. Within the small Welsh group our favourite game is a spinoff of

On the one occasion we found ourselves in N Wales many years ago he kindly took us out on his rib on the Menai Straits. I’m still grateful and a day I’ll never forget.

Welsh Med. We have spectacular cruising grounds. NSL may never leave if she is given the grand tour

I think NSL is a gog herself. I’m sure she understands the humour!!
Excellent, we do give Kwakkers a hard time, quite possibly more than he deserves :p

If you mean the breakaway cable then this is deliberately skimpy - once it has applied the breaks on your trailer then it should part company with the towing vehicle.

You don't want your trailer flailing around at the back of your vehicle if the towing hitch has failed!

Your essential guide to caravan breakaway cables

Hey, I looked at the picture and right away thought 'Thats Gallows Point wtf is a bod from West Sussex doing up here!
Reading on I realised
We are on kinda different lockdown 'guidlines' hereabouts
The same 'social distancing' though.
How are you going to manage that snag on the sea trial?
Hey, I,m not trying to burst a bubble or cause a downer or owt
Just that Today I could have taken a local bloke and his new to Him boat (similar to yours) out for a sea trial and some training stuff.
6.5 I think it is but anyway We decided it was not the thing to do, for now
Sorry not trying to nick your thread or excitement
I suppose it will be a while until She is rigged and ready
Anyway, She is 4.9 miles from My place
If you want a hand on the day I could sit in the outboard well!!!?
I suppose you will have to just dash up here do the Trial and get back 'Darn Sarf' what a shame not to able to see the Area properly
Or have I missed summatt?
Am I mad then to not sea trial her? Surely if there are any issues a dealer down here could deal with it, it will be under warranty.Ive found the dealer down here I want to work with, so it doesn't matter does it?

Yes it does , if things are wrong with installation, they will charge you darn sooth , have they supplied the trailer. The Ford is a great tower by the way.

I didn't sea trial the (only) boat I bought new many years ago.
Dealer did the prep, and the only real issue - a sticky fuel sender - wouldn't have been picked up on a sea trial anyway.

Surely the dealer will test the boat before delivery?

Hi Nosey
A couple of things. Check your engine manual to see if the engine needs running in first, because if it does that has to be factored in if you do a sea trial because odds are the dealer could take the boat flat out to impress you. And babying the engine might be what’s required.
Second, there could be some faults with the boat. Probably only minor, a snagging list it’s called. Sometimes these faults don’t show up for a month or so, example gelcote crazing. Now, some dealers are better than others when it comes to rectifying faults. I’ve bought two brand new boats off a dealer and my advice is to hold their feet to the fire. Don’t accept any platitudes or promises only accept prompt action. But I’m sure your dealer is a great guy.
Great looking boat, I have a real soft spot for Quicksilvers. You will enjoy her

I love her, took her out 3 times and she is really steady, no slamming, and got uptown 30 knots, so didn't run the engine in sorry !

yes, towed her all the way back myself, and I forgot she was on the back, I had to take my foot of the gas, sometimes I was up to 80 miles an hour and didn't even realise, the trailer didn't wobble at all, but I know I was daft going that fast , but just simply forget she was there, really pleased with how the journey went
