nearly back in!

Hi Morgana

I'm back at Shotley this year - got real fed up with the bridge at Lowestoft (I was in Haven). Saw your boat on the hard and thought to myself "I recognise that name from the forum". Unfortunately I'm a mobo - I'm on M04 in the poor end of the marina but it suits me fine (I'm with all the smelly fishermen and love it !!)

Your boat's looking grand (for a sail boat anyway !). You missed a corker in the Stour last weekend. Mind you, you'd have not had much luck with sails - the river was as flat as a table top.

Maybe see you in the lock sometime

Rubberduck went back in today, cant wait to get over to Burnham & start playing again, but EBY have a couple of things to do which need to be done afloat, but not long now. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Oh, & I can still remember 40. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for that. I have six more weeks of work before I can claim the sailing vouchers and get the covers off. Can we have no tales of people having fun with boats until then PLEASE!!

Look forward to it..... of course, if you ever find yourself up the other end of the marina for any reason, then naturally, you'll be knocking on Morgana's coachroof to check to see if our beer is cold won't you? F15 (I think!).... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Second that. I still haven't managed to get my boat ashore, so I have no idea when my boat will be ready for the season. Until she's out, I don't really know how much work I have to do!

May be touting around to see if anyone will take me as incompetent crew /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

New cabin windows and lining to cabin side cut out today, with my son's help.
Hope to get them fitted tomorrow.

I have sent off my membership application to the local sailing club so that I can use their slipway to launch.
Need to send for a short term river licence.
A mate is making me a larger fuel tank.
Lorry hoist at work booked to make anti-fouling easier.

Should be ready to go back in the weekend before Easter. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Ready for the long trip round the the Deben.

The supposedly 'quick' task of preparing a piece of wood to accomodate my depth transducer took me all day to shape to fit , though I have to admit it looks 'prettier' than the piece I wanted to use ( didn't realise fish liked pretty things ) , so Sunday's job will be to make a piece for the inside of the hull and get the thing fitted and painted . Once that's all set I can fit the transducer and complete the paint job below the water line , after that it's back to work on the deck . Doesn't time fly when you want to get it right but you've got a target date you want to stick to

Excellent - thanks for the offer. Likewise, if you're out for a stroll and you hear the sound of a noisy 3 year old (son, not boat !!), come and have a beer on La Maitresse.

Im in, all the heavy duty stuff is done, still a long list of bits and bobs, however the first sail of the season is but days away . . . . . . . . signed "smug git of bradwell" hehehehehe

Cant really understand all that rushing around getting cold, is the weather ok for painting or varnishing are the people i need booked up etc etc etc.

july 07 3 weeks on the hard worked in t shirt and shorts, long hours of daylight. as the yard was empty had the prim spot next the the shower block and YC bar maid delivered cold beers as required and even a cuppa or two.
Just so happens the weeks i chose were warm sunny and not a breath of wind didnt miss much sailing. In contrast have sailed the last 4 weekends running with hardly a boat to be seen. and when all moored up again have the heating going and take a stroll through the yard to the pub have to try very hard to costrian my giggles at guys cold and damp and covered in anti foul

Oppps may have slipped into rub it in mode for a second
