No East Kilbride is Scotlands Basingstoke whilst West Kilbride is more akin to Highcliffe. On the other hand Kilmarnock is the centre of the known universe!

Having lived in Kilmarnock for a few years as a kid...you are being terribly unfair to Birmingham! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

This is apples and oranges. You mean is Lanarkshire Scotland's Essex (note the way we form genitives in Essex, by the way)? If so that puts Kilmarnock in Suffolk and Dunfermline in Kent. Glasgow would be somewhere unimportant - Southampton or Portsmouth, for example. Edinburgh, I presume is relocated to somewhere the gay Gordons would fancy... Hampstead Heath, for example. In fact, I 'm thinking of turning myself into Sir Walter English, with novels such as Heart of Hertfordshire, Queen of the South(end), Ivanho-ho-ho (a comic text)

Irvine is 10mins from me.

Now Irvine is Bad!!!, But not as bad as East Kilbride, although probably worse than Killie, but not a nice as West Kilbride. West Kilbride is jist doon fae Largs and its nicer, and i'm fae Dalry which isnae as nice as Largs but nicer than all the rest!!!!/forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Does that make sence??/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Stangely - yes !

I have an ex girlfriend of fond memory from Irvine. Aaaah . . .

I also like Troon, Ayr and most of the county, too.

10 mins. from Irvine eh? Ardrossan perchance?

A question for you; is Great Cumbrae a part of ayrshire or Renfrewshire?

Thanks for the geography lesson!

I've now found Dalry on the UK vvillages web-site (shame it's next to Blair /forums/images/icons/smile.gif!) and notice you keep the boat on Loch Lomond - lucky begger!

Boring old New Milton is at the other end of the country, right next door to Highcliffe - the West Kilbride of the South Coast! - in which case New Milton may possibly be the Kilwinning or Stevenston of the South Coast? Hmmmm . . .

Cheers! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
